How do you decide who will do your
dental implants for you?
“If I was a person looking for someone to place implants for
myself, I would look for a dentist that has had a great deal of experience
in the placement of dental implants and a dentist who also restores
these implants. The implants must be placed in the bone in such a
way that allows the forces of the bite to be distributed on the implants
in the best possible direction. This force design is important for
the health and strength of the bone. In fact Wolff’s Law was
discovered in 1892 about bone; it states that bone structure will
displace and replace itself in accordance with forces around it.
I would want a dentist that knows how to place the implants, and
then, create the best possible force direction. It would also be
beneficial if this dentist knew about body chemistry enough to check
on the bone mineralization before the implants were placed. If the
bone is not mineralizing properly, the implant will not heal into
the bone optimally and it could be rejected. My colleague, Dr. Tom
Wais, is a dentist with this knowledge and skill. He places and restores
the implants, and this is a great advantage to his patients since
they do not have to travel to multiple offices. I would recommend
him very highly to any person desiring dental implant therapy.”
Dr. George Beck, faculty of the Misch Implant Institute
If you’re missing one or more teeth, have trouble chewing,
or are embarrassed about your smile, dental implants and tooth replacement
may be right for you.
Dr. Wais has been placing dental implants for over 20 years, and
he decided to make it a principle area of continuing education. His
combined experience and knowledge in the arena of dental implants
benefits his patients by creating lasting, successful results --
and more satisfied patients. Implants are a wonderful solution when
handled correctly by an experienced practitioner. Implants successfully
planned and executed are the next best alternative to your natural
teeth. But they require excellent planning and execution to create
the extraordinary results that make them worth the investment. When
done correctly, they are a great investment, and Dr. Tom Wais, after
20 years of continuous study and hands-on experience, can make sure
your dental implants give you the results you expect and deserve.
Most general dentists restore implants and do
not place them. We do both in our office so you
don’t have to travel to different offices
or dentists for complete implant care.
Dr. Wais has also studied bone grafting techniques
to make sure your implants have the best result.
Correctly identified, these cases will result
in successful placement and lasting results the
first time. The bone grafting can even strengthen
adjacent teeth. And the better condition your
natural teeth, the less likely patients will need
more dental work in the future.
The principal goal of all work done at our office
is to prevent the need for future dental work.
We know you’ve got better things to do with
your life. And so we have developed innovative
programs to improve your oral health that will
surprise you. You’ll wonder why you’ve
never had an experience like this before.
You may have noticed in your investigation of
dental implants on the internet that there are
sites about implant failures, rejections, bone
loss, and infections. Dr. Wais has been doing
implants for twenty years, and he has had verifiable
success with the implants that he has been using
due to his experience and long term training in
the field of dental implantology. Dr. Wais has
extensive training in clinical nutrition, and
this training supports the success of the implants.
He worked on a Ph.D. in nutrition, and is now
working with a clinical nutritionist that has
worked for 30 years with blood chemistry to facilitate
the proper integration of the dental implants.
An interesting article about a dental implant
company recently appeared in Forbes magazine.
Nobel Biocare produces the Branemark implant that
was one of the first implants on the dental market,
and the research for it was done in Sweden, where
it can no longer market the products.
“URICH (Thomson Financial) - Nobel Biocare
AB has been asked by the Swedish Medicinal Product
Agency (MPA) to improve warning notices accompanying
its dental implants NobelDirect and NobelPerfect.
The Swedish health regulator is convinced that
wrong usage of the product is responsible for
bone loss, which is disputed by the Swedish-Swiss
maker of dental implants.
The company is currently not allowed to market
the products in Sweden.”
Our health system has not taken any actions about
dental implants, but 20 years of experience is
what led me to study more about bone loss, bone
grafting and nutrition as it relates to successful
implant placement. Experience truly does count,
and we are dedicated to ensuring our patients
receive the highest level of care. Contact our
office to schedule an initial interview with Dr.
Wais to put his experience to work for your implant
needs.
